BREAKING STRINGS

Hearts grow older than time,

Slowly sinking in doubt of endless lies told by a sweetened heart.

Every thought brings life that seems to run dry,

Within a blink of an eye,

To the point where I no longer believe this life is mine,

Time seems to stand still,

Cause certain wounds just don’t seem to heal.

Our bodies no longer crave for a beautiful touch,

We’ve bled wounds to deep without band aids love’s become just another broken latch.

Smiles are no longer sweetened hearts of beautiful flowers,

But conniving hearts with unclear passions hidden behind summer showers.

It was life when dreams we’re daffodils in the summer springs,

Now it’s just a cold road of broken dreams hanging into balance on breaking strings.
